On these accusation, lawyers of the magazine threatened legal action against him and a settlement was reached in March. According to the settlement Fahmi was ordered to tweet an oppology 100 times for 3 days, since he didn’t have the funds to afford print advertisement. He started tweeting the apology on Thursday morning.

This defamation settlement is the first of its kind in Malaysia. Earlier there have been apologies on blogs in such cases but nothing like this legal settlement.
