Official Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread Update for LG Optimus one P500 [Manually Installation Guide ]

Great news for LG Optimus One P500 owners waiting for their Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread. The official firmware for LG Optimus One P500 is now available. If you haven’t already updated to Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread, then this is the firmware you should download. Here are the step by step instructions on installing official Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread on your LG Optimus One P500, read the warnings before following the guide.

Warnings

This update is only and only for LG Optimus one P500
Phone locked with the network are not supported like T-Mobile, AT&T etc.

Gingerbread 2.3.3 on LG Optimus One Installation Guide

First of all make a backup of your phone data.
Reset your phone before installing, it will clear all data of your phone, then hold Home, Volume Down and power button until the phone turns on.
Download Gingerbread 2.3.3 firmware.
Download firmware updating software.
After downloading firmware updater , extract “KDZ FW UPD EN.zip” to desktop.
Double click on “msxml” to install.
Enable USB Debugging mode, go to menu > settings >> application >>> development and check USB Debugging
Connect your LG Optimus One to pc without turning on USB storage on your phone.
Launch “KDZ_FW_UPD” from the folder you extracted before.
In the software update [KDZ] window,shown below in the image, select Type as “3GQCT”, PhoneMode as “DIAG” and in KDZ file field browse and select “V20E_00.kdz”
Hit Launch software update , now it will start update for your phone.
You will see “Emergency mode” while update.
This update procedure will take some time, about 10-15 minutes.
During this process Dont disconnect your phone OR stop KDZ updater
After the process, disconnect your phone from Pc, switch on your phone and you will see 2.3.3 Gingerbread on Lg Optimus one P500.

no it is not necessary to root before upgrading, rooting is optional.

while updating power went off so now what should i do…
it is just showing Emergency mode…. in the beginning, once i switched it off it is permanently off….

remove ur battery and then connect ur mobile with usb cable(dont connect ur battery)..try flashing the firmware again using kdz updater…even aftr tht its not starting…do a factory reset…by pressing home+volume up+power…it worked for me…

install the lg phone drivers and switch on the debugging mode in settings then disable lg virtual modem in device manager if there it works dude

Same happened to me, just stuck on android load up. Fixed it by hard reseting the phone. turns out it didnt like some of the uk ornage junk on there before i guess. after hard reset it booted right up into 2.3.3

Guys!!! i tired upgrading this as per the steps mentioned here…first it went to the emergency mode then it turned off after that the updater gave an error message

please go to recovery mode after upgrade..its usefull

i could update to 2.3.3 (from 2.2.2) using LG mobile update tool that came bundled with the phone this is much simpler and safer way to upgrade!
