Root Xperia X10 running Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread (Tutorial)
Recently we post an article how to Download and Install Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread Update on Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. Here is another good news for the owners of Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 who has updated their phone to the latest Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread, XDA team got success to obtain root access for Xperia x10 running on stock 2.3.3 firmware. in order to root your Xepria X10 running on Android 2.3.3 follow the rooting guide.

- Rooting will void your phone’s Warranty.
- This Guide is only for Xperia X10 running with stock 2.3.3 gingerbread , you can check version by going to Settings > about phone

Rooting Guide Xperia X10 running on 2.3.3 Gingerbread
- Download Flash tool package from [Here]
- Install PC Companion on your pc in order to install phone drivers on windows
- Go to Menu>Settings>Applications>Unknown source, activate “unknown source”
- Enable “USB debugging” by going to Menu > Settings >> applications >>>Development >>>> USB debugging and also enable “Stay awake”
- After that switch off the phone
- Extract flash tool pack “FlashTool_0.2.9.1.zip” which you have downloaded before.
- Open this folder and run “X10FlashTool.exe” file, you will see this window
- Select aZuZu – Kernel Downgrade version from the list.
- Follow the instruction shown by FlashTool windows
1. unplug the device
2. power off the device
3. press back button and hold it
4. plug usb cable to pc - After this FlashTool will start flashing process , when its done you will see “Flashing finished.” message in FlashTool window . it will also prompt you to unplug device and enable Usb debugging, unknown sources. (don’t close FlashTool)
- Remove USB cable and switch on your phone and just after a vibration alert ,immediately connect the USB cable again.
- Wait for the Root button becomes visible in FlashTool ,when it appears click on it.
- It will start rooting, when it done you will see “Root should be available after reboot” message in FlashTool.
- Before your phone automatically boots , remove the battery and wait for 5 seconds and insert the battery again.
- Click on Flash button and select aZuZu – Kernel UpGrade from the list in Flash Tool.
- Click OK , Follow all messages prompted by FlashTool
- If all goes well you will see “Flashing finished” message. Disconnect your phone and switch on volla you have rooted Xperia X10.
Note:* In some cases usb debugging and unknown sources options automatically becomes disable ,so you have to repeat Step 1,2.
**You can also download X10_aZuZu_Kernel_Downgrade_Generic.ftf from [Here] and X10_aZuZu_Kernel_Upgrade_Generic.ftf files from [Here] separately, and copy them to FlashTool > Firmwares folder.
