iPhone SDK

iPhone SDK (Image Courtesy: Apple)

Just three weeks after releasing the iPhone 3.0, Apple has now made available the beta version of  iPhone SDK 3.1 (build 9M2736a) for developers on its Apple Developer Connection site.

According to some sources, the new beta has MMS enabled by default, although it’s unclear whether it works with AT&T at the moment. Apple has also included 15 new OpenGL tools for 3D modeling and graphics, which will essentially help game developers.

The new SDK also includes VideoController and VideoPicker APIs which now allow the user apps to call up the Video editing UI. The new UI allows the user to save a copy of the ‘original’ file after they have edited and produced a cut-version.

If you uncover any new features, let us know.

Palm Pre introduced an intuitive interface of “cards” which greatly reduces the effort in multitask environment – and a break from iPhone 3GS old icon based interface. The LED flash in Palm Pre is a big advantage over iPhone 3GS if you are fond of photography. The memory storage is an area where iPhone 3GS nails Palm pre as the former offers 16/32 GB while latter disappointedly offers only 8GB of space. Apart from LED iPhone 3GS offers better camera quality of 3.2 megapixels compared to 3 megapixels of Palm Pre. iPhone 3GS users know the difficulty of writing long messages using virtual keyboard, on the other hand Palm Pre offers an amazing physical Qwerty keyboard.
